We did great texture paste classes on Wednesday night and Thursday morning. I did manage to remember to take a couple of photos. (It was Cassie really! Thanks love).

We had a lot of beginners in the classes so I was pleasantly surprised with the finished results.

Next week we have a fantastic 'Page with a View' class. I can't wait for this one. It will certainly be different to anything I've done before.

As some of you may be aware we have been having phone line problems of late. Well we are up and running again. Everything seems to be working fine.

Our number is still the same, so if you want to call you can on 07 4151 8388.

We have a change of email address though. The new address at the moment is

This will hopefully be only a temporary email address, but I will let you know when we get the permanent one up and running.

As you can see below we have a month of wonderful classes again in October.

Every one is welcomed when they come to our classes. We are a friendly bunch and the store is cool and comfortable and very relaxed. So if you're a bit nervous to try something new, then please know that we will look after you here.

Scrapbook & Papercraft Convention & Expo

As you know I went to the Scrapbook & Papercraft Expo in Brisbane at the long weekend. What a great excuse for a girls weekend. Shandell, Jenny & I had the funnest time (I know that's not a word but it is so true).

We had dinner and drinks at The Brekky Creek Hotel on the Saturday night. If you haven't been there before, you should try next time your in Brissy. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food was absolutely divine. On Sunday we went to the Scrapbook Expo and shopped and shopped and chatted and I did a Printblocks Class and made a lovely album with the new Your story machine. The Your Story is a brand new laminating and thermal binding maching from Provocraft. It hasn't arrived in Australia yet but will only be a couple more weeks. I'll let you know when they're available. The expo was great, imagine all those scrapbooking stores under one roof with heaps of demos and presentations. We easily spent the whole day there checking things out and learning heaps.

Sunday night we were invited to a Printblocks party at Southbank. It was great to get together with other shop owners and suppliers and let our hair down for a few hours. There were a few 'famous' scrappers there and it was really nice to meet them. They were such lovely ladies and so down to earth. And just about everyone there won a prize (except me) but I had so much fun it didn't matter. We got heaps of photos of the evening and you can see how much fun we had.

Monday was another trip to the Expo where we did a class each. I made a gorgeous memo board and Shandell made a stunning mini book. I will have to post photos when I get them.

And the drive home which was quite eventful and a great way to top off one of the most enjoyable weekends ever. A quick stop into Krispy Kreme donuts didn't hurt either.

Tomorrow Shandell and I head off to the big smoke for the long weekend.

Road Trip!!!

We're staying at a friends place for 3 days of friends, fun & scrapping and no children. We are really going down for the huge Scrapbooking & Papercraft Expo being held at Southbank this weekend but will find time to hit the town as well.

If you haven't checked out the expo site yet, you really should and if you're in Brissy this weekend you should try to get over and have a look. It is a massive exhibition hall FULL of scrapbooking stores showcasing all their latest and greatest. We're all booked in to do some groovy classes so will be full of lots of wonderful ideas when we get back.

Now the reason for this post is to let you know that the store will be closed tomorrow. Sorry for any inconvenience.

If you would like to visit the store but work full time we are open on Wednesday nights between 6.30pm & 8.30pm. We have a class running at this time but the store is available if you want to come and have a look or buy something.

We are finally here and almost settled in, by the end of the weekend I’m hoping we will look like we’ve been here for years.

We have lots and lots of new stock in and arriving shortly. I’ve got a huge Kaiser order being sent today, so hopefully that will be up and available for Tuesday (all going well). Will let you know as the orders arrive.

The rubon foils, flocks and glitters from We R Memory Keepers have finally arrived. They are just so delicious to glam up any page.

And that is just what Kylie is doing on Thursday night in her “stitching and glamour” class. Kylie has lots of funky and fresh ideas to incorporate into your scrapbooking layouts, so do yourself a favour and book in to Kylie’s class today.

Kylie is a breath of fresh air for the team at The Creative Artz Cottage and we welcome her with open arms. Come and say Hi and check out the layouts Kylie will be teaching this month.

This time in a more hands on way.
A woman with a very big heart has offered to coordinate the making of "memory gifts" - family albums for those who have lost everything in the Victorian bushfires.

I've copied this from Sarah Gladman's blog:

As scrappers, one of the most important things we deal with on a daily basis are memories. Family memories, memories of loved ones, memories of holidays, birthdays, christenings, bbq’s and days at the beach. These families in Victoria have got no tangible evidence of their lives left. No family photos. No happy snaps. You can replace a fridge, but you can’t replace years of momentos.

In order to help out these families begin to put their lives back together I have started a scrapbooking plan - called “MEMORY GIFTS”.

Quite simply, I ask each and every one of you who read this blog to donate a 12 x 12inch completed scrapbook LO to the “Memory Gifts” program. Each page will be sent to me. I will collect them and bind them, then hand them over to the head of Pastoral Care for the Victorian Catholic Education Office, Maria Kirkwood in Melbourne.

Each family devastated by fire will be (in time) given album pages to help them begin their memories again. Those families can then approach their own families for copies of photos to put into the albums, or simply start putting in fresh memories.

Sarah asks that you leave a comment on her blog if you can help. If you are in Bundaberg and you are going to make some layouts for this cause you can drop them off here at The Creative Artz Cottage. "ME" Classes & "ME" Book

The highly inspirational Jane Marin, artist, photographer, healer and life coach, developed the "ME" classes in 2002.

They began as a series of classes where participants could dedicate an album entirely to themselves - something which she noticed almost never happened.

The classes have since evolved into a journey of self-discovery and healing with each participant taking from them what they wish, whether it be:-
-to record their personal history
-to experiment with a variety of art forms
-to create a journal for personal growth
-to initiate a process of healing or even
-to discover their life's purpose

Classes include a combination of art therapy, collage, journaling and scrapbooking to create a wonderfully colourful record of the participants' life, on a physical, emotional and spiritual level.

"ME" classes have now been produced in book form, which includes 52 worksheets and much more, based on the "ME" Classes and is available at The Creative Artz Cottage.

Hi, Just want to wish everyone a happy and safe Christmas and a prosperous and creative New Year.

I will be having some time off in the next couple of weeks and will come back to start the new year with fresh enthusiasm and renewed energy. (Well that's what I'm telling myself anyways.)

Dates for December

We will be open Tuesday 23rd 9.30am - 4pm, Wednesday 24th 9.30am - 4pm, and Saturday 27th 9am - 1pm of next week Then only Tuesday 30th 9.30am - 4pm in the week of the new year.

We will reopen back to normal on Tuesday 6th Jan 9.30am - 4pm.

If you can't make it within the times that we are open, I am able to stay open a bit longer on the days that I am here by prior arrangement. So if you would like to come in after work then just give me a call and I will endeavour to accommodate you.

Jill GG is coming to teach at our next 12hr scrap marathon!

FEBRUARY 21st (10am - 10pm) is the day you have been waiting for. Australia's only Prima verified tutor. Jill GG is coming to share her creative talents with us.

Jill is on the Design Team for American Crafts as well as being a member of the Tarisota Design Team . She has been published over 250 times throughout Australia in Scrapbook Creations, Scrapbooking Memories, For Keeps, Creative Scrapbooking (now Creative Paper), Australian Papercrafts and Stamping & Papercrafts magazines, as well as in Memory Makers and Creating Keepsakes.

Jill is an experienced and popular teacher and her casual style creates an informal, relaxed class whilst sharing her own techniques and experience.

The day will start at 10am and the first class with Jill will be 10.30am.

There will be 2 classes (including class kits), demos, fun & a lavish spread to round out this awesome day for the great price of just $88.

The Cricut Jukebox holds six cartridges letting you access contents within these cartridges all at once. Up to six cartridges can be placed into the Jukebox and then the Jukebox is plugged into your Cricut or Cricut Expression.

We had a full house and from all accounts everyone had a great time, including myself and Lorretta. Loretta was like a breath of fresh air for us Bundy scrappers, her style is so unique and so gorgeous. She bought some of her albums along for us to have a gander at and we were all amazed at how talented she is. Thank you soooo much Loretta for coming to share your brilliance with us, the classes and finished pages were so great.

There was lots of prizes, giveaways, demonstrations, and a few games throughout the day to keep us all entertained. We even had a guy from Maryborough come to scrap with us and the food was delicious.

I would like to say thanks to Katrina, Cassie & Petrina for your demos and also for helping get the final preparations sorted. And a BIG THANK YOU to Cassie for all her efforts in getting donations of prizes from all over and co-ordinating our fundraising efforts.

Speaking of fundraising, we raised a total of $438 with our Big Day In and raffle. Thanks to everyone who attended, and also to those who bought a ticket in our raffle, for your support, it is because of you we are now able to donate this money to The Cancer Council.

Kim Richter was the lucky winner of the pink Cancer Council raffle of over $70 worth of scrapbooking products. That will keep her busy for a while.

Now, some might say I am a little disorganised at times, and I might agree, whilst I took a lot of photos throughout the day, I didn't manage to get any photos of any layouts. So my challenge to all who attended our Big Day In is this. I will give you 10% of any purchase made, from Wednesday 15th October 2008, at The Creative Artz Cottage, until Friday 23rd October 2008 and I will increase that to 20% if you bring in a finished layout to be photographed.

Layout Frames

In store at the moment we have great layout frames.

The first is the Picture it Pageframe. This is a great 12 x 12 acrylic frame if you want to change your display often. When you feel like a change it's as easy as sliding out your old layout and sliding a new one in. It's that simple. You are able to use your own ribbon to hang it, which will make it suit any room.

The second frame we have in at the moment is the 12x12 Lulu frames. These one's work just like a normal photo frame and are very sturdy. If you are giving a layout as a gift or have something sentimental that you will keep in the frame, the Lulu frames are excellent.
